SUMMIT PLANNING COMMITTEE

Thank you to our planning committee!

The summit planning committee is comprised of faculty volunteers from across the Kansas public institutions who are passionate about OER and were interested in organizing this state-wide conference.  The group was co-lead by Claire Nickerson (cenickerson@fhsu.edu) & Lee Miller (millerle@bartonccc.edu). If you have questions about this event or would like to volunteer for future Kansas OER conferences please contact one of our co-chairs.

KANSAS OER STEERING COMMITEE

To encourage OER use across public institutions in the state of Kansas, the OER Steering Committee was developed and is made up of representatives across Kansas public institutions who are interested in OER on their campuses. The group convenes once a month to discuss statewide initiatives, including collaborative events, grant applications, system participation in regional and national OER organizations, OER platforms, and best practices. The group is lead by two volunteer representatives, one representing our public 4-year universities and the other representing the 2-year community & technical colleges. ABOUT KANSAS BOARD OF REGENTS

The nine-member Kansas Board of Regents is the governing board of the state’s six universities and the statewide coordinating board for the state’s 32 public higher education institutions (six state universities, one municipal university, nineteen community colleges, and six technical colleges).

In addition, the Board administers the state’s student financial aid, adult education, high school equivalency, and career and technical education programs. Private proprietary schools and out-of-state institutions are authorized by the Kansas Board of Regents to operate in Kansas.
