MEETING GUIDELINES & POLICIES

Meeting Guidelines

Our goal is to provide a safe experience for all participants. During our meeting, we will abide by all local requirements as well as follow the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines as much as we are able.

We ask that you please do not attend if you have symptoms, have tested positive for, or are waiting for results for COVID-19, flu, RSV, or other contagious illnesses.

Event Cancellation Policy

Aside from catastrophes, personal tragedies, and other emergencies, should you fail to cancel by the hotel’s required deadline or fail to appear, the Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) will not be held financially responsible for any additional fees that may incur.

These additional fees may include, but are not limited to, hotel “no show” charges and hotel cancellation charges incurred due to missed deadlines. If charges are incurred on MHEC’s bill, MHEC will request the hotel to charge the credit card on file. Individuals are responsible for cancelling or making changes to their hotel reservations, when applicable.

These above policies apply to all MHEC events unless otherwise noted in the corresponding event materials. Please contact MHEC for further details or if the need arises. Thank you!

Photograph/Video Release

The Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) reserves the right to use any photograph/video taken at any event sponsored by MHEC, without the expressed written permission of those whose image or likeness is included within the photograph/video. By registering for a MHEC event, you grant to MHEC the irrevocable and unrestricted right and permission to use the photograph/video in all formats and media for any purpose including but not limited to: news, webcasts, promotional purposes, advertising, inclusion on websites, social media, etc.

A person attending a MHEC event who does not wish to have their image recorded for distribution should make their wishes known to MHEC in writing prior to the event and include a photograph. MHEC will use the photo for identification purposes and will hold it in confidence.

By participating in a MHEC event or by failing to notify MHEC, in writing, you release MHEC from all claims arising out of the use of the photograph/video or derivatives thereof, including without limitation all claims for compensation, libel, invasion of privacy or violation of copyright ownership.

Any person or organization not affiliated with MHEC may not use, copy, alter or modify MHEC photographs, graphics, videography or other, similar reproductions or recordings without the advance written permission of an authorized designee from MHEC.
